About this story

Moses and Aaron bring God’s message to Pharaoh, but the king refuses to let the people go and makes their work harder. This retelling selects the frog plague, the hailstorm warning and the darkness, ending before the final plague, Passover and the departure from Egypt. At home, Eli learns to pause and make room for Maya’s idea while they play with a toy farm. The 29-page digital edition includes seven questions, a listening plan, a prayer and two activities: Take a Listening Turn and Make a Kind-Choice Card. Read with a grown-up: the story includes slavery, cruel treatment and frightening troubles, with no illustrated injuries or death. Two pages of adult guidance explain the omissions and support sensitive conversations. The EPUB requires a reader supporting EPUB 3 fixed layout.
