Why these stories matter
Stories can help children talk about feelings, recognise themselves, discover other lives and make sense of everyday challenges. Our books explore courage, kindness, faith, culture, family life and belonging through memorable characters and child-friendly adventures.
From Kofi learning to feel proud of what makes him unique to Wei Wei celebrating family traditions and Milo following clues beneath the big top, every series offers a different doorway into reading together.

The books are written and created by Steve Lewis with one simple aim: to give families enjoyable stories that also open meaningful conversations. Each series has its own carefully developed characters and illustration style, while keeping the language accessible for children aged 3–8.
Mirrors, windows and shared moments
Children deserve stories that reflect parts of their own lives and stories that introduce them to experiences beyond their own. Brave Little Readers brings together Black, Chinese and Muslim characters, Christian faith stories, funny family adventures and child-friendly mysteries without treating any one childhood as the default.
We hope every story gives a child something to enjoy, something to talk about and one more reason to feel that books belong to them.
